George Randall, president of Payson Concrete Materials and Steve Rogers, a Rim Country landscape contractor at the time were in pursuit to fill a gap in the distribution of hardscape materials in the Rim Country. They identified it and filled it in 1998 with the formation of The Rock Yard, Inc. in Payson Arizona where Steve Rogers is now Vice President. The initial focus of the company was on landscape supplies such as boulders, decorative stone, cast products, concrete block, brick, natural stone, masonry supplies and accessories. The Rock Yard, Inc. has recently started the expansion of their concrete division; lead by Robert J. DeRosa - Vice President of Operations.
The continued growth of The Rock Yard Inc. can be attributable to the fact that it stays with industry reliable brand name products. Steve noticed the loyalty the contractors have with these trusted names and was adamant about including them in The Rock Yard's inventory. For example, The Rock Yard Inc. is one of the largest distributors of Owens Corning Cultured Stone, an industry leader that offers a 50 year warranty. Another reliable brand name product is Belgard Pavers. Belgard offers a lifetime warranty when the pavers are installed by a ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) certified installer. Other product lines such as Multiquip, Marshalltown, W. R. Rose Trowels, Kraft and many more are tools that our customers have learned to trust because of the way they perform on the job.
In a highly competitive market The Rock Yard Inc., strives to distribute complete and correct material to the jobsite in a timely manner. We have grown rapidly due to our ability to focus on our customers' needs as well as improving industry standards. The Rock Yard Inc. offers unique outdoor show rooms since a large majority of the products we sell will be used for an outdoor application.
